Cheese the Day

A Unity/C# team project where my gameplay work covered obstacle and vehicle spawning plus interactive obstacle behaviour.

Overview

Cheese the Day was a runner-platformer developed by Team 1 during a Futuregames project in January–February 2022. Playing as a mouse, the player travelled to work and bought cheeses before the week ended. I worked as a gameplay programmer in Unity and C#.

Gameplay Systems

I implemented the core obstacle and vehicle spawning logic. Spawn points came from child transforms placed in the scenes, while weighted randomized selection varied which obstacles and vehicles appeared. Vehicles spawned continuously with variation in timing and placement.

For interactive obstacles, I implemented collision behaviour that altered player velocity, applied an impulse, and temporarily disabled player controls.

Additional Contributions

I also contributed to waypoint-based pedestrian movement and to ScriptableObject configuration for obstacles and vehicles.
